Single isolated juniper overhanging the river at top edge of this small cliff formed from Namurian sandstone strata. The presence of juniper indicates some enrichment, possibly from the Faraday House Marine Band. The only other trees present here are rowan.

Additional Notes | This isolated juniper is a very fine example of the final surviving presence of a pioneering woodland species known to have been present throughout Swaledale and the whole of Britain from the tundra stage of the early post glacial. |
